Thought for the Month (June 2018)
I always think June is a beautiful month. The countryside and gardens both display the lush and verdant beauty of God's creation to great effect. Long evenings allow for walks after work. A nightgale might even sing in Royal Tunbridge Wells, amongst the song thrushes and robins.
It is easy to take the beauty of creation for granted. To be caught up in the busyness of life, with its highs and lows, and fail to notice how beautiful the spider's web really is, or how intricate a rose bud, or even how many shades of green there really are.
The exquisiteness of creation is a reminder of God's love. So this June take time to admire the beauty of Creation and to rest in God's love awhile. Jesus taught His disciples to just take time out occasionally and be refreshed. We should listen to His teaching. Even an occasional five minutes time out enjoying God's creation can make all the difference.
Abide in me as I abide in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit, because apart from me you can do nothing.
John 15: 4-5
